Jeet Kune Do

The definition of Jeet Kune Do (JKD) is the "Way of the intercepting fist" and was a term coined by Bruce Lee in the late sixties. Jun Fan Gung Fu is an art originally developed by Bruce Lee. The name came from Bruce Lee's Chinese name of 'Lee Jun Fan' combined with the Cantonese spelling of the term Kung Fu (Gung Fu).

The late Bruce Lee, along with his student Dan Inosanto, devised a unique fighting method that incorporated all combat ranges by drawing from their research into multiple styles. JKD has developed into a modern fighting art and incorporates a blend of Jun Fan, Thai/Kickboxing, Filipino Martial Arts, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The developmental exercises, the use of focus mitts, drills, and training methods are great for any Martial Artist and an important building block for your personal art. The student is taught how to blend and flow with the arts using his./her strengths, enabling them to recognize their weaknesses and further train in those areas. A student is no longer limited to one particular style or set of rules, allowing them to train and develop their own attributes and fighting methods.

Filipino Arts

Thu 7:30pm - 8:30pm

Kali is a weapon-based system of Martial Arts from the Philippines. Training includes many categories of weaponry and complete and comprehensive weapons-based system that addresses all combative ranges. With the use of weapons students develop skills such as speed, timing and agility, along with sensitivity drills and grappling.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Sun 9:30am - 10:50am

A fighting system from Brazil, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is very quickly becoming popular in MMA and UFC for its effective ground and pound fighting. It was originally developed from traditional Jiu-Jitsu by the Gracie family of Brazil and was specifically designed to allow a smaller person to defeat a larger person by sophisticated application of leverage and technique. Students will learn ground positioning and movement, submissions, hitting, and take downs. Great for all levels. All of these arts are great in combination for self-defense, physical fitness, and all levels of fitness and expertise. Group classes and private lessons are available in each of these.
